About our Client

Our client is an award-winning integrated, creative communications agency with design at its heart.  They are looking to recruit a Traffic Manager to join their busy team.

Job Description

As Traffic Manager, you will be working closely with the studio and Client Services team to help manage, plan and resource the workflow of the creative studio. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring all projects run smoothly, efficiently, and on time, responding to and resolving scheduling queries and issues.

As the central contact point for all projects that flow through the studio, you will need to ensure adequate resource is available, with the appropriate talent, and constantly review workload to identify the need for freelance resource, whilst keeping the internal team fully utilised.

You will work closely with the team to ensure projects can be completed within the hours estimated and assist the Client Services team in estimating time needed, when required.

The successful applicant will therefore carry out the following day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the resource scheduling calendar for all active and planned jobs
  • Check, challenge and refine briefs to clarify what’s being asked of the Creative team
  • Be the go-to person for all resource requests and act as the liaison between teams to establish and re-evaluate priorities regarding deadlines
  • Identify any potential project issues early and troubleshoot where necessary
  • Ensure work flows efficiently through the agency and that deadlines and time budgets are met
  • Work with the Creative Design Director and client teams to forecast job time accurately, to inform resource required, enable accurate estimates and to allow adequate time for upcoming projects
  • Anticipate future work, planning and adjusting schedules and resource requirements as appropriate
  • Prepare and lead weekly (sometimes daily when needed) resource meetings
  • Meet regularly with the Creative Design Director, the Content Director and Operations Director to organise, plan, scope and confirm resource availability to meet current and future project requirements
  • Build effective and strong relationships with freelance talent, and build up a further pool of freelancers ready to onboard on projects

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Skills and Expertise:

  • 2 to 3 years+ experience in a similar role, traffic/resource/project manager in an agency environment or similar
  • A good understanding of design and production processes and ability to identify potential improvements in those processes to develop further efficiencies in working practices
  • A good working knowledge of Adobe Suite (to be able to make small amends and provide support on quick in and out tasks)
  • A working knowledge of Synergist would be advantageous, but by no means essential

Personal Skills:

  • You are a born planner, highly organised and would enjoy the challenge of managing the process of a busy agency
  • You can juggle multiple projects, whilst managing and supporting others
  • You can work independently, but enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You can build effective relationships and can play the part of mediator to establish and re-evaluate priorities
  • You know when to challenge and how to find solutions

Qualifications:

  • Educated to Degree level, or an equivalent professional qualification such as IDM or CIM
  • Full driving license and own car

The Successful Candidate

The focus of this role is to ensure effective workflow through the studio, whilst building and maintaining relationships within the studio and Client Services team. You will have a thorough knowledge of current work and planned work going through the business at any given time.

The successful candidate will therefore be a great communicator, able to ‘connect the dots’ and ask the right questions. You will be comfortable working within a fast paced, ever-changing environment, thriving on the challenges this brings.

You are someone who's not afraid to push back and be firm - but always eager to support, is positive and solution focused. You will have the initiative, confidence, and tenacity to keep the studio working efficiently. You will have the time-management skills to juggle multiple projects and prioritise requests from various members of the team. You must be highly organised, resourceful and a pragmatic problem solver.
