PR Account Manager – Woking, Surrey / WFH

Salary £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata DOE plus benefits

This role is being offered for a minimum 4 days per week.

What You’ll Do:

We are pleased to be working for an integrated marketing agency specialising in the hospitality industry.  They specialise in growing businesses, from independent hotels to conference venues and from small suppliers to trade associations and they are looking for a PR Account Manager to join their growing team.

Job Description

The successful applicants’ main duties and key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining ongoing detailed knowledge of the clients’ businesses, personnel, operating environment and market, including frequent site visits and face-to-face meetings
  • Helping to achieve monthly business and revenue targets while supporting optimising team resource efficiencies
  • Owning formalised client planning, monitoring and reporting both exposure and end-result bookings/revenue
  • Day-to-day development and execution of PR plans
  • Creating impactful PR campaigns to secure quality media coverage
  • Managing and optimising budgets for clients
  • Management and development of the client account management team at Account Executive and Apprentice levels
  • Attending meetings and events with clients on a frequent basis
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the media and build relationships with key press and influencers
  • Compiling contact reports and update clients regularly by phone, in person and by email when required
  • Sourcing consumer PR ideas and creating angles for features, events, opinions and surveys on behalf of the clients, including media liaison and editorial pitching
  • Ensuring all projects run to deadline and budget using existing internal processes
  • Speaking on PR challenges and opportunities in hospitality

The ideal candidate will have the following key knowledge, skills and experience:

  • A minimum of five years’ PR and Marketing experience as an Account Manager ideally within the hospitality, tourism and leisure sector or lifestyle sector
  • Educated to degree level and qualifications in journalism, English, PR, marketing or communications preferable
  • Passionate about the hospitality and events industry
  • Experienced copywriter and enthusiastic storyteller, able to turn your hand to press releases, website copy, email newsletters and award entries - all with excellent spelling and grammar
  • Confident managing clients, the media, freelance staff and suppliers. You mustn’t be afraid to pick up the phone
  • Outstanding media connections
  • Strong creative thinking with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use initiative and manage time effectively
  • Ability to analyse and rationalise activity
  • Strong project management and presentation skills
  • Professional approach to client relationship management and confidence in liaising with key stakeholders
  • Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
