We have an excellent opportunity for a PR Account Director to join a pharmaceutical PR Agency based in London.  They are part of an award-winning, independent group of companies which unite in their drive to provide ‘freethinking’ communications and engagement solutions to healthcare clients who crave a different approach, and they need a PR Account Director to join their busy team on a hybrid basis.

Job Description

The PR Account Director will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Manage, mentor and coach team members; contribute to performance review
  • Responsible for team development and improving its effectiveness
  • Drive opportunities for own personal learning and development
  • Be involved in the recruitment and selection of new staff
  • Inducting and mentoring new staff into the business
  • Day-to-day motivation and running of the team
  • Maintain direct liaison with clients on multi-project or programme basis
  • Scope and manage projects and budgets
  • Run/facilitate client meetings/workshops
  • Form partnerships between clients and external audiences
  • Co-ordinate the writing and delivery of programmes /presentations
  • Ongoing development and day to day management of programme strategies
  • Drive creative and innovative solutions for clients’ issues
  • Work cross practice to ensure new business opportunities are identified and executed
  • Deliver required revenue and profitability against monthly practice client plan
  • Develop financial forecasting and plans for client projects
  • Manage month-to-month financials for client projects including WIPs, budget reconciliation’s, invoicing
  • Effective management of team productivity and costs
  • Follows the company’s policies, procedures and controls
  • Ensure and maintain high quality work standards

The PR Account Director will have:

  • PR / communications background, preferably with ethical healthcare (pharmaceuticals) experience
  • A strong knowledge of emerging trends in healthcare and medicine development
  • Writing and proofreading skills at a high standard
  • Experience and interest in new business development – taking on research roles for new pitches and bringing your own perspective to new briefs
  • Understanding of social and digital media trends and the practicalities of incorporating these elements into PR campaigns
  • Passion for company development and expansion – making sure the company’s ethos of a strong work-life balance is maintained and that they continue to review and refine their working practices
