£25,000 - £27,000 DOE plus benefits

We are delighted to be recruiting an Account Executive to work with an impressive global brand based in Surbiton, Surrey.  They are looking for an Account Executive to manage all account management and administrative tasks relating to designated accounts.

Job Description

The Account Executive will carry out the following duties:

Principal Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Develop account business plans to deliver the account strategy working together with the National Account Controller to consider business planning requirements
  • Ensure agreed account targets are met by presenting the company’s plans, goals & strategy and by conveying its brand values and market share ambitions
  • Secure commitment and listings from accounts by leveraging promotions/programmes and account marketing fund, delivering maximum ROI for the business across the product range
  • Maximise opportunities in market size and trends by analysing accounts’ business and trends by product sector and product, including the company’s profit

Order management

  • Reporting
  • Point of contact for retailers
  • Stock management & Allocation
  • Terms & Pricing
  • Invoicing
  • Support ad hoc projects

Main Tasks

Account Management

  • Develop short, mid and long-term account targets and strategies which provide for the achievement of NNE sales and distribution objectives with a clear view on maximising profitability and ROI for the company
  • Manage approved and allocated account budgets within the authorised sign off levels below and that all expenditure is recorded
  • Ensure all agreed account targets are agreed by Head of Sales, recorded with nominated personnel in Sales Office and documented in writing with the customer
  • Liaise with Marketing to develop programmes which support the overall account strategy
  • Ensure the company’s share of in-store or on-line display and point of sale is appropriate to its plans and objectives across all product groups
  • Prepare for, deliver and follow up all Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) meetings
  • Advise internally of any relevant market or competitor activity within an appropriate time
  • Ensure all correspondence is answered within an appropriate time and is available to senior management for reference. Respond to all written or electronic communication within 24 hours of receipt. Respond to all verbal communications/messages within 4 hours of receipt
  • Support all shows, meetings and events as directed

Account Operations

  • Order management in SAP and DealerNet (retailer order portal) & Key Account Support
  • Work closely with the Account Manager and the retailers
  • Manage customer order books and ensure SAP is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect true demand and ensure accurate reporting
  • Ensure pricing on SAP is in line with the pricing on the customer p/o and flag any discrepancies with the account manager
  • Point of contact for retailers
  • Answer calls from dedicated key accounts
  • Stock Management & Allocation
  • Work with the Planning & Procurement teams to manage stock allocation
  • Retailer terms- administration in excel and SAP
  • Ensure pricing is correctly maintained in SAP and the relevant files. Ensure any issues are flagged and resolved
  • Ensure new products are correctly set up
  • Ensure price repositions are correctly reflected
  • Ensure invoices are correctly processed
  • Ensure invoices are being assigned to the correct budgets and that they are signed and dated
  • Ensure all invoices are correctly processed within two working days of receipt to ensure accurate reporting
  • Internal support

The Account Executive will require the following:


  • Degree level with 1-2 years of work experience, preferably within sales, customer service/support

Professional skills & Know-how

  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills in English
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel
  • Commercial awareness and confidence communicating with retailers
  • Negotiation skills
